Know what you have,
and what you made.

Rugero is the stock book, the cash book and the counter of a small shop, as one record. Sell, receive stock, pay a bill or count the cash, and the shelf, the money and the profit move together, so they always agree.

Free to start. No card needed.

Inventory first, with the books done properly

A counter for the day, a list of everything that happened, the shelf and the money. Each screen reads the same records, which is why they never disagree, and why the profit it shows is the profit you made.

What is on the shelf, and what it cost you

Every product with how many you hold in each shop or store room, kept current by what you record. Stock is valued at what it cost you on average, so you know what the shelf is worth today, not what it would sell for.

  • Levels by location, with transfers between them
  • A reorder level for each product, and a list of what to buy next
  • Bring a stock list in from a spreadsheet, with what each one cost
  • Sizes and colours as options of one product, without the clutter

One list of everything that happened

Sell at the counter, receive stock, take a return, pay a bill, count the cash. Each entry is numbered, dated and kept: a mistake is cancelled with a reason, never quietly edited, and a month you have closed cannot change.

  • A counter made for speed: type a few letters, press Enter, done
  • Sales on credit to customers you know, and what each one still owes
  • Keeps selling with no connection; sales are sent when it is back
  • Returns linked to the sale, counts that correct the difference

Profit worked out the way an accountant would

Behind every entry is a balanced double-entry journal, the kind an accountant or a bank would recognise. Profit is sales less what those goods cost you, after expenses, not a guess from a price list, and every report downloads as a spreadsheet.

  • Profit and loss, sales by product, money in and out, stock value
  • Cash, mobile money and bank balances, and what customers owe
  • Where the business stands on any date, for a loan or a partner
  • VAT collected and paid, if you are registered

Put a product online with one switch

Publishing shows a product on your own shop page, at the price you already set, with the pictures you took. Buyers pay by mobile money at checkout with no account to create, the order arrives as a paid sale, and what they paid is sent on to your number.

  • Your own page, your colours and your name, shared as one link
  • MTN MoMo and Airtel Money at checkout
  • Stock is held while the buyer pays, and released if they do not
  • Orders to deliver, in the same list as the rest

An agent that does the typing

Ask what is running low or how the month went, and it answers from your own figures, not the internet's. Send it a supplier's price list and it prepares the purchase as a draft for you to check and record. It never records anything by itself.

Staff record, managers see the money

Invite the people who work with you. Staff sell, receive stock and take payments without ever seeing costs, profit or balances; an expense they write up waits for a manager to record it. Cancelling, returns, counting the cash and the reports stay with you.

One Tuesday, as the records kept it

Everything the owner did, and what each one moved. Three columns, and nothing to add up at the end of the day.

Shelf is units; money is cash, mobile money and bank together, which is why a day of buying stock ends with less of it; profit is after what the goods cost and the day's bills. Umubano's RWF 174,000 is owed, not money yet, so it counts in neither until they pay.
