Terms

What you can expect of Rugero, and what it expects of you. Using Rugero means you agree to these.

Last changed 5 October 2026.

What Rugero is

Rugero keeps a business's stock and its books as one record, and can put its products online to be bought with mobile money. It is a tool for keeping records. It is not an accountant, a tax adviser or a bank, and what it shows is only as right as what was entered.

Your account and your team

  • You sign in with your email address or with Google. Keep that mailbox safe: whoever can read it can sign in as you.
  • The owner of a business decides who joins it and what each person may do, and answers for what they record.
  • You must be allowed to run the business you set up here, and old enough to enter into an agreement where you live.

Your records are yours

What a business records belongs to the business. We keep it to run the service for you and for nothing else; the privacy page says exactly what that means. You can take your lists and reports out as files at any time, and ask us to delete the business when you leave.

Details you enter about other people, such as a customer's name and number, are yours to look after: enter only what you need, and only what you are allowed to keep.

Plans

The free plan costs nothing. The other plans, what each includes and what each costs a month are on the pricing page and in Settings. A paid plan runs to the date you have paid through; after that the business goes back to the free plan and nothing it recorded is removed. Prices can change, never for a period already paid for.

The online store

  • The shop is the seller. A buyer buys from the shop, not from Rugero. What is sold, its price, its delivery, and any return or refund are between the shop and its buyer.
  • Payment. A buyer pays by mobile money, through pawaPay. An order is held for 15 minutes while it is paid, then released. Nothing is charged unless the buyer approves it on their own phone.
  • Payouts. What a shop collects is sent to the mobile money number it gave, once a day, less the fee shown on its Store page. The shop is responsible for that number being its own and correct.
  • Refunds. A shop that takes an order back refunds its buyer itself and records the return. Rugero does not send money back to buyers.
  • What may be sold. Only what is legal to sell where the shop is, described honestly.

The agent

The agent reads your records and prepares drafts. It can be wrong. Nothing it prepares reaches your stock or your books until a person checks it and records it, and what is recorded is that person's doing.

What is not allowed

  • Using Rugero to break the law, or to deceive buyers.
  • Trying to reach another business's records, or to get round a plan's limits.
  • Placing orders you do not mean to pay for, or sending payment requests to numbers that are not yours.
  • Anything that puts the service at risk for everyone else.

A business that does any of these can be suspended. A suspended business can still read its records and take them out; it cannot record anything new.

What we promise, and what we cannot

We work to keep Rugero running and to keep each business's records apart from every other's. We do not promise it will never be down or never be wrong, and it is provided as it is.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for profit or business lost through using Rugero or through not being able to, and what we owe a business in any year is limited to what it paid us in that year. Nothing here takes away a right the law says cannot be taken away.

Leaving, and changes

You can stop using Rugero at any time and ask us to delete your business. We can end an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why.

When these terms change, this page changes first, and the date at the top with it. A change that matters is also sent to every owner by email before it applies. Carrying on after that means you agree to it.

Anything here that is not clear, or that you want to ask about: write to us.
